I cant understand why people set so much store by what opinion polls say - look at the dogs breakfast they made of predicting the last general election. isnt it fairly obvious that the people paying for the survey will get the questions to give the answers they want.
They didn't do all that dreadfully in 2015 either, at least in some regards (eg rise of SNP, virtually zero chance of Labour majority, collapse of Lib-Dem vote, insignificance of Green Party, etc). And this is a simpler result to predict, to, since it's a two-horse race so vote numbers directly turn into the expected result.
The usual rules for polling uncertainties apply, anyway.
I just hope that the question on polling day will be concise & to the point & NOT printed in such a way as to confuse the general public into voting what our lords & masters really want.
SharonA: I listened to Martin Lewis today and he was MOST emphatic that no-one should use his opinion to influence their vote. He stated that it was a very fine line for him and based purely on economics, which is his interest, and that he understood that other issues such as sovereignty were also hugely important and should be taken into account.
I agree with you Jourdain, but he does speak a lot of sense. In fact I am totally fed up with with do Brexiters and Bremainers trying to bang the message home.
