No one ever came near, Because it is impossible in its present state.
1. If you pass on a letter, you should get a new question on that letter. So the race should be to Z, not having a load of old questions to go over again at the end.
2. The best anyone has done is probably about 30 seconds short. So they need to have maybe two or three randon 10 second boost questions.
A couple of niggles.
1. This thing about answers being given nano seconds after time has run out appears to be unfair. The should do a mastermind style, 'I've started so you can finish, on the last answer.
2. Questions should be timed to be shorter and of equal length. There was an instance when the two finalists had similar time at the end. Sterling was able to ask two questions to one contestant, and four to the other. The one who got 4 questions won by a point.
