I haven't done one for a long time as there hasn't been much to say.
But I do have some news and for those that all shared kind words when he had his crash - I'd like to share it with you.
As you may know Ricky had a nasty crash a good 3 years ago now which left him in a coma for 3 months. He faced a lot of struggles but he's come on very well.
He was at Sheffield last night and he was driving one of the Jeeps that parade the riders. This was the first time he's been allowed to drive a vehicle since his crash. He did really well and if Owlerton Stadium had a roof after the reception he got last night you'd be lucky if it was still there, but it doesn't and I've never seen someone so appreciative of all the love the fans have for him. Was a lovely moment.
Don't know the story behind your brother but I hope he continues on his journey of health and strength. From what I can gather, he is one very lucky man. You must be brimming with pride!
Aww thank you Patsy. Only thing he isn't really my brother. But the Speedway family is a big one. So in a round about way I guess he could be considered such.
I am actually very proud of him as he has come a long way. He has a long way to go but with all their behind him we will get him there.
Great news, QoM - I hope his continued recovery is steady & comfortable. The help he's getting from his family, friends & fans will be a huge boost for him.
I recall (I'm fairly certain!) a report that Ricky was looking to go down the engine-building route. Is that still in his plans or does he have something else in mind?
It has been but I guess it's one of these things you can't put a time scale on. I know he's been having all sorts of physio etc but it will be a long process. He's one of the lucky ones though. Have to take each day as it comes and see what it brings with it.
I've not heard anything of late so it could still be in the pipeline. Usually don't hear what he does but you get to hear about his progress in his health. But I'll ask about as I know a lot of people who may well know what he's up to.
