Strictly Voting - Racist?

It appears there is a row brewing on Twitter that is based on the notion that the public voters are 'racist' for voting off two black contestants in a row.

I must confess the notion of any sort of connection - other than them being seen as the worst dancers - never occurred to me.

Anyone else? Media URL: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-3830448/Strictly-viewers-brand-Tameka-Empson-Melvin-Odoom-s-consecutive-eliminations-racist.html

I would not call it racist more who will get them higher ratings.

Vote 1 they got rid of the man because Anastacia couldn't see through the dance due to being in pain - she should have gone.

Vote 2 Tameka was the better dancer but there is more gossip with the other girl therefore higher ratings.

Just my opinion of course!
Groan.
What rubbish. As Islay said Melvin was up against Anastacia who had an injury.
Neither Laura or Tameka should have been in the dance off but because they were in the middle of the table people 'forgot' to vote for them. Of the two Laura was the better dancer and Tameka was voted off by the judges
Well, we all know (from previous series) that the viewers' voting has little to do with dancing ability. Therefore it's down to several other factors....choose one, choose another and choose a third.....and you'll probably be right!
I only watch snippets of come dancing but both the black contestants were crap at dancing. I don't think they had any complaints about getting shown the door did they?

islay is right of course - it's not a competition, it's entertainment, so the BBC can fiddle with it to make it more entertaining. Laura is supposedly bedding her dance partner so they won't be eliminating her any time soon...
Keep in mind that the dancers who are put in the dance off are principally put there by the TV audience vote. Now much as they might like to, I don’t think the beeb would fiddle that because they have been caught out before. I am also betting that the last thing they want is a race row over strictly. The chatter on saturday night as the result came out that Tameka was out was that she had annoyed voters by pushing in on another contestants post dance interview. I didn’t see it so can’t comment.
Black people can vote, too

Three of the most popular winners are Alesha Dixon, Louis Smith and Mark Ramprakash.
Denise Lewis and Colin Jackson are worthy runners up.
I found Tameka incredibly irritating and pushy - it was me, me, me all the time - maybe lots of viewers shared my opinion. Felt it was a little unfair the week before though - difficult situation as had they danced off maybe the judges would have altered the outcome - we'll never know.

Yes but that was before Brexit, hc ... you forgret that we are mostly racist now
You get to vote?? Can I vote to have this drivel removed from the TV and the BBC cut my license fee by a comensurate amount please!
is Ramps not white?
Ramps father is Indo-Guyunese, born in the Caribbean, his mother is English.

In the eyes of racists, that makes him black
ahhh, he scored a brilliant 100 in the West Indies, 150 odd I think. What a player at county level, like Hick never carried that over to tests. Shame.
Ramps has complained about racist abuse he received in Australia
But surely it is racist not to have all the contestants as non-white ?

Not sure what your point is here?

We are not discussing the racial dynamic of the contestants, we are discussing perceived biased voting.
andy I think OG was trying to be funny
Black dancers matter.
People seem to be posting the most ridiculous things lately...
