Following on from another thread regarding how unfunny Sarah Millican is, who is your all time favourite, mine has to be Max Miller, my dad loved him and I got to hear most of his stuff over the years, great timing and delivery.

Good grief! Where does one start? Should comic actors be included? (Tony Hancock, for example?). Sketch performers? (Eric Morecambe? Ronnie Barker? John Cleese? John Bird? John Fortune?) Comedians who don't need any scripts at all? (Linda Smith?) People who can be incredibly witty and, at times, outrageously funny, but who wouldn't think of themselves...

Billy Connelly ( saw him a couple of weeks ago- brilliant)
Ken Dodd
Peter Kay
Dave Allen.
Shelley Berman.
I know I am old with this but the Golden Girls really lifted me at a time of great loss of losing my mum. Even now I bought the box series and I can still laugh, and being aware of "things" - the 4 of the them had great timings - unbelievable.
Jasper Carrott

Billy Connolly???????????????
Ken Bigley laughed his head off then, did he?
Bob Hope, ken Dodd, Laurel and Hardy, The goons.
Jasper Carrott, Dave Allen, Ronnie Barker, Tim Vine, Michael McIntyre
Baldric, I often wondered if Bigley wouldn't have agreed with Connolly - kill me or set me free, don't let this go on any longer.
Dave Allen, Tommy Cooper

That's great, Sam......it's a wonder we ever learn to tell the time.....☺

jno, does it ever occur to you that you may just be a tiny bit sick?
So so many, but if has to be just one, then Bill Bailey.
Jnu. Ave you then gastric virus " doing the rounds ?"" :-)
Billy Connelly
Lee Evens
Peter Kaye
Oooh I like Dave Allen too!
Forgot peter Kay. A very funny man .
well, what do you think he felt, Baldric? Not what you would have (he was an engineer, not a military man like you), but what he would have?
I agree with Buenchico. It's hard to pick out of all of those. I'd add Dylan Moran, Bill Bailey and Tamsin Greig.
The goons. And the crew of HMS Troutbridge.
Dave Allen..Bob Monkhouse...Morecombe and Wise....in his day..Freddy Star...Ken Dodd (genius at one line quips and goes on for hours ) Father Ted for sitcom....
