my mum has asked me about what a fire stick actually plays...is it monthly cost like a contract..ive seen them for about £35 is that all you have to pay out for one ..what sort of channels do you get ie: films...live sport etc..thx for any answers
It is streaming device so you get all the catch up channels (and you c an 'watch now' on BBC1 and ITV). the rets are mostly sybwcription channels, netflix , Amazon Prime etc. It works best with Prime as it's an amazon produce, but Prime is good value at £79 per year for shows films music and free delivery with online shopping.
You can also download apps like mobdro or kodi to stream other channels and live sports etc.
The Amazon Fire Stick is a good buy if you pay the Amazon Prime Annual fee. Once you have bought the stick you do not pay any-more. Some Amazon films are free, others can be rented or bought. There are also other T/V shows for free. In my opinion good value for money. However because streaming is involved you do need good Broadband to avoid stopping & starting probs.
You can add apps such as Mobdro and Kodi and get lots of free content.
You can also add the catchup apps for BBC, ITV, 4 on deman and Five.
The Film-on and Freesat apps get you UK channels that you may not get through your aerial.
Amazon want you to subscribe to Prime Video, but the Firestick is great without doing that.
