I read somewhere its a comfort thing, like a comfort blanket. Msut get hot on occasions though!

I think I read that he had a skin condition, an ingrown hair that turned into a keloid, the keloid scar spreads and for certain types of skin it can get really bad. He has had treatment for it but it takes a long time to heal and is unsightly. He wear the hat to cover it. Great singer mind.
