Strictly Xmas Special

I have loved Strictly since it began, but the recent series was clearly fixed and the marking by the judges on this Xmas special is totally stupid. I know it's entertainment, but don't you think Strictly is a joke now?

Love Strictly but agree about the Xmas Special no way was Melvin the best he won to compensate him for the earlier fracas with Anastasia and the no dance off !!

You are probably right Vernonk, all competitive competitions seem corrupt these days.
We can go back to that breakfast show phone in with Richard & Judy, Blue Peter kids programme, when they were rip off's, and now, FIFA, Athletics, Boxing, Politicians, and probably lots more we dont know about.
I wonder which judges on Strictly, Pop Idol, X-Factor, BB etc, have made the most money on the side?

I cannot see how or why the BBC would have fixed it yesterday. The result was based on the judges' scores and the audience's votes and the result was said to have been independently verified. However it would be interesting to know how the scoring worked- eg whether there was equal weighting given to the two sets of scores.
Anyway, if the judges had been instructed to fix it they would not have given 40 to another dancer (who was white), but they did. And the audience presumably were not under instructions to fix it because surely one would have spilled the beans- unless they were chosen after some sort of selection process based on their views (as happens with Question Time).

The quality of dance performances in that one-off show was not a patch on pretty much any Strictly series, yet the judges gave them stupidly high scores. Len, as he was judging for the last time, gave everyone a 10. Craig, renowned for harsh marking, was also overscoring like crazy. It was all so silly and pointless. I realise they were trying to exude festive fun, but....
