Have just finished watching the first series of The Man In The High Castle which is based on the same theme - Germans/Japanese winning the war and taking each taking control of the USA. If SS-GB is half as good, it will be a decent watch.
Sounds like another excuse to do some 'Kraut bashing', a bit of historical porn maybe?
There are at least three generations in Germany who have absolutely no experience of, and have had nothing whatever to do with National Socialism and an older generation who suffered under it as children.
Already one poster has mentioned Angela Merkel I see. Mixing fact and fiction is a dangerous business.
Don't you think it is a good idea now and again to remind those who have had no experience of such happenings, to be shown what could have happened and might well still happen?
AOG ; I agree, in fact a German television channel (NTV) last night screened a whole one hour ducumentary on the SS.
But this programme isn't a documentary, it's a work of fiction using facts, which I find a dangerous area. The great George Orwell wrote 1984 depicting a totalitarian state and explored the potential of the idea, but it was a complete work of fiction and did not confuse issues.
