tongue in cheek, Islay, tongue in cheek, a healthy cynicism of some of the closing speeches. Actually, Fry did a pretty good job of signing on, and showing why the Oscars won't employ him as he's to dry for the ABC/CBS audience.

Having seen most of the films/performances nominated, yes, I did watch.
Well done again BAFTA for a broad spectrum spread of awards with some very poignant acceptance speeches too.
Never really understood why someone would write a 3 paragraph OP about a programme they weren't going to watch, decidedly odd! Obviously not film fans, so their loss.....
