Avatar Picture Size

Is there an optimum size of image (I will download mine from Google Images)so as to ensure an avatar that is clearly legible,or doesn't it really matter?

Gravatar automaticall y resizes images anyway, so the original size makes no difference. Just make sure that you select something which will still be clearly visible when it's made small. There's no point is choosing an image which has too much detail. For example, this would suit your username rather well but people wouldn't easily be able to see who it was...

Bather when you have your image downloaded and saved in your pictures gallery, you need to join Gravatar (WorldPress). After joining yo can then choose an image as your Avatar. To do this when you are asked to provide an image choose "browse" as your source and it will automatically open your picture gallery. Right click on your chosen image and go select. Then use the Gravatar edit facility and confirm. It usually take about 10 mins to show on the "bank" after a refresh.
As Togo's seeking to help you get it right, I'll just mention a couple of points which people sometimes fall down on:
1. The email address you use for your Wordpress/Gravatar account MUST be the same one which you used to sign up to AB. It's the only way that your avatar can be linked to your AB account.
2. You'll be asked to assign a 'certificate' to your avatar. The letters are based upon the American film classification system and you need to choose 'G' (= 'General', equivalent to our own 'U' for 'Universal' film classification).
