Blue Peter dog

Can anyone remember the name of the first Blue Peter dog?

Yes, it was a mongrel Petra. She came on board in 1962 and sadly died after appearing on her first episode. The producers of the programme didn't want to disappoint their viewers so they found an identical pup, who was also named Petra. The viewers never knew that it wasn't the same dog. Petra, the second, died in 1977.

The first one I remember was Petra. The original one died not long after appearing, so a substitute was brought in.
