Tonight they covered three topics. These were the mutilation of Female genitalia in Africa,Mental illness and the Cuban Missile crisis. All three subjects were handled well. However the scriptwriters let themselves down by showing Trixie and the dentist at the side of a lake on the bonnet of his sports car on a summer's evening, the fact was that the Cuban missile crisis took place in October 1962.

It could have been a warm autumn evening
October 1962 was described as - Rather mild and sunny with below average rainfall.

That aside it was a very good episode.

I agree Mamya, not that you and I do often, but it was a good episode.Maybe then they had done their research on the weather but it did seem a bit out of place for October.
Nice to concur :-)
Havn't seen it, what sports car was it ?.
Grumpy, has your space bar broken?
Question Author
Don't know sorry.
Question Author
Don't know was to the sports car.Space bar Ummm?
I recall the Cuban crisis. We had practice drills for the 4 minute warning at school. We had to line up in class and then walk out to the playground and stand in line class by class. What good it would have done I do not know! I remember standing out in just my school uniform with no outdoor clothes so it must have been mild weather.
Anyway...do you just watch programmes to see if you can spot a fault? Chill, watch them as light entertainment, not factual programmes...
.
It was a Triumph 6, and Trixie did feel the chill as the dentist draped his jacket round her.
Question Author
No Ummm I don't watch programmes to find fault especially Call the Midwife but if you are going to use a factual background then you have a duty to some authenticity.A lot of other programmes I don't watch because I can't stand the ridiculous plots i.e. soaps.
It was a Triumph 6

A GT 6 or a TR6 ?.
I studied the Cuban Missile Crisis at college. Must have been a very frightening time waiting to see if WW3 was about to happen!

I had to look away when the Somali lady was giving birth.
TR6
Never heard of a TR6 so I would never have noticed.

This series of CTMF is fictional so simply someone didn't do their homework.
Thanks hc4361, another cock up then Triumph didn't start making TR6's until 1968.
I was waiting for that ;-)
And the GT 6 wasn't made until 1966
Mamyalynne I was waiting for that ;-)

I know you were, Mamya ;-)
