emmie,The ironic thing is,that as the BBC has programmes made for it by an independent production company;these same programmes (such as Bargain Hunt) probably cost more than if the BBC made them themselves.This is because in general the BBC is controlled by accountants.They need to know exactly how much a series will cost(end to end),and cannot stand the "open ended" budget that a BBC "home made" would be.
Much like me making a new kitchen for you, I say its £15,000 all in.But if I go weekly to B&Q,and do it in stages it will only cost £10,000.I hope this make sense?
