I love Doris Day but this is a load of carp. She will always have known - she was from an era when many of hollywood actresses lied about their age so she'd have had to perpetuate it. She is amazing to be stiill around though, all credit to her.

whereas in your eighties or nineties - you age faster as a measured rate of two years per decade....

so she is doing quite well .....

In your late nineties - you age and get to 100 a few y before you do
and say 'yippee I am 100' - old peoples homes can go to some lengths to pander to this ( parties - photostats of telegrams etc)

My dad was always a year out with his age. He was born in December and registered in January and always thought he was a year younger than he really was. Retirement a year earlier than he expected was a pleasant surprise.

and X happened to be less than my mothers actual terrestrial age.

I've being told many times I don't look my age (45) even a couple of weeks back a fella thought I was making it up. Also I do remember one of my Brothers not being served alcohol over in the states when he was 25... but had no ID on him and still gets dis-crumpled whenever its mentioned some twelve years later.

I went to my friends granddads 80th birthday party (which cost the family quit a bit )but later they found out he was in fact 79 lol x
