Thyroid emmie?
Question Author
could be, ain't no spring chicken, perhaps Sqad can shed some light.
Question Author
take carbimazole for thyroid, could that be a reason?
Are you just recently diagnosed emmie?
I started off on those I think, then on to thyroxine, which is why I asked. Are you not stable regards your dose yet? You need to see your doctor x

that's scary,
so far no loss of hair on my head, which you would expect, except when i have a haircut.
but the loss of my eyelashes is proving really problematic, in so far as dirt and dust getting encrusted
in my eyes.
Question Author
been on thyroid meds for some time, certainly over a year.
You need to be seen again emmie to check your blood . I can't understand being g on that medication for a year? May be I'm missing something, hopefully sqads will be along x
Question Author
have had three blood test in the last month. that's how i know was low in Vit D, so now take folic acid and Vit D tablet.
Testing your thyroid too emmie?
Question Author
not too sure, will call the doc on tuesday and tell them, as they may be able to give me a clue as to why i have lost most of my eyebrows and now eyelashes.
Yes do! x
Lack of vitamin D can be associated with hair loss also.
The commonest cause is that of an under-active thyroid as suggested by Eleena but as emmie states that she has been on carbimazole it looks as though she has an over-active thyroid.
Thyroid function tests need to be repeated to make sure that she is on the right dose of carbimazole, although I suspect that they will come back normal excluding a thyroid causes for the sign of eyelash loss.

This would bring us to the favourite in my opinion and that is an anxiety state which is a recognised cause of these symptoms.
So the difference between being given carbimazole or thyroxine is whether you're overactive or underactive squad? I was under the assumption all thyroid disease was controlled with thyroxine.

biggest problem for getting to doctors is mobility, i have osteo arthritis in both knees, the pain is unbearable, hence not getting out much. The last time the doctor came to see me>
