Don't read on if you haven't watched the final yet..,,,,

So it appears there's been quite a backlash on Saliha winning the title lastnight. There's been loads of comments on Twitter and FB saying she shouldn't have won because although she was a fabulous cook , she never strayed out of her comfort zone and only cooked spicy/ Indian/ curry cuisine. Whereas the other two cooked a huge variety of recipes from many different countries and showed many different and complicated techniques.

I thought all three were great finalists but did think Steve was going to win as his good was just incredible.

It was always on the cards there would be side swipes (whoever won), people are like that sadly.

I'm glad I wasn't the one choosing, she is a worthy winner.
Although Mr Alba and I haven't watched this year's Masterchef, I'm sure she won due to consistency of producing food to a very high standard.

I agree with Mamya's post.
I so wanted her to cook away from her "comfort zone",but her techniques and skill were indisputable. Her final meal did get into new territory with French and Italian influences. The comments on Twitter come from small minded people who are trying to stereotype her

And I guess when they all cooked in the professional kitchens and for the chefs table she just had to cook what she was shown didn't she - and it wasn't what she would have chosen.
I thought Steve was by far the better cook and wanted him to win too, I am sure he will go on to get a good job in the cookery world. Although Saliha was good I thought she was a bit of a 'one trick pony', but what do I know - would love to have tasted the final dishes of all of them. Anyway congratulations to her
Its Fanny Craddock !

Lol Mikey. Yes I'm sure any of the kitchens Steve cooked at during the series would give him a job tomorrow.
I think it's a shame that the winner was someone who will not go on to cook in a professional kitchen or open her own restaurant: what all the other contestants are surely aiming at. She's never going to give up her career in medicine. Steve should have won
If that were the criteria for judging the show then I'd agree with you. The object is to find the best amateur Chef/Cook.

Also we cannot say she won't rethink her career, many do especially if they go on to have more children.
The runners-up frequently do as well as the winner...so no worries about their future prospects. Of course, she may have to put medicine on hold if winning requires her to make personal appearance, etc.
