I have a freeview box with my telly but there are quite a few channels which don't come up when I scroll through including " quest". How can I get these channels? Thank you.

You need to do a complete re-tune of your Freeview box.
Go into set-up on your remote and do a retune as if it's a new installation.
I'll try retuning but lost Al Jaz and RT a few months ago.
Use this site to check what Channels are available in your area.

i have retuned both my tvs but i still don't get freeview 60 on one of them?
There are TWO reasons why you might be missing some Freeview channels:

1. (The main reason, and the one which applies to your problem with Quest)): Freeview channels are transmitted in 'bundles', called 'multiplexes', with each multiplex being on a different frequency. Theoretically the lengths of the elements on your TV aerial need to exactly match the frequency that the aerial is designed to pick up so, in an ideal world, you'd have a different aerial for each multiplex. (i.e. you'd have loads of aerials on your roof). Clearly that's impractical, so we use aerials which are only a 'rough match' to the various frequencies used by different multiplexes. That means that any aerial will be better at receiving some multiplexes than others. So, if the signal strength from the transmitter isn't good enough, your aerial will be able to receive the channels on the 'well-matched' frequencies but not those which are on 'poorly-matched' ones.

The solution is simply to fit an aerial booster. They're sold in some larger supermarkets for around a tenner. (Remember to retune your Freeview box after fitting the booster)

2. If you've only got an SD ('standard definition') Freeview box you need to be aware that there are a few channels which, although they only broadcast in SD, are forced to use HD multiplexes due to lack of channel space. So channels such as Talking Pictures, Vintage TV, Viva and Rishtey (all of which transmit only in SD) can't be received via an SD Freeview box; you need an HD box to get them
I'm having a similar problem with my youview box. Done all the re tunes suggested but no joy.

Even went to Live Chat at BT today but then lost connection half way through. Tearing my hair out so know how you feel.
DarceyK123:
If it's only Freeview channels that you're experiencing problems with (rather than internet-based services) my answer above applies to your situation. (Check that your aerial hasn't been knocked out of alignment and install a signal booster).
I've lost Russia Today and Al Jazeera but everyone else in my block of flats gets them so can't be the aerial.
And can't retune either as explained on Darcey's thread about lost channels.
what really annoys me is that when you retune, it says that you have X number of channels but a third of them either do not receive anything or are shopping channels. i have tried to get 5USA+1 on my bedroom telly but it does not compute! maybe if you try retuning a few times you might get what you want. hope this helps
Buenchico, my aerial is in the loft so I'm not going up there. My son tried the TV without the Youview box and it was strong, only dips when going through the box.
