I seem to have large amount of USB leads and i want to get rid of a few.

Some are marked with 2.0, none say 1 or 3 - but most don't give this info at all - and just have writing on the wire with various letters and numbers etc and also what seems to be a temperature and a voltage, and other things

i dont know what any of it means.

can any one tell me what i should look out for in the writing in order to decide which ones to keep - what info is 'good'? What stuff matters?

Thanks

The lack of answers just shows what a stupid and bizarre system USB leads seem to have ... why don't they want people to even know which type are?
Why can't anyone tell anyone anything ever about them?
Its a travesty.
I'm unsure how one tells. If they work then they are good to keep, or pass to family friends. Otherwise they are slung.
If you're really organised you'd attach a small label to each lead to indicate which "device" it came with....and only use it with that item. When the item is no longer needed, you dispose of both the item and it's lead. No spare leads hanging about....'cos you don't need them.
(And, yes, I really do this!)
Pretty sure that up to USB 3 that all leads are the same apart from their connectors and those are identifiable by sight
