I find that much of the video that I download is out of sync with the sound track.
Is there a way of re-aligning the two?

Tyr vcl player it has a tool which will sync your sound to your video
Or even VLC player (not vcl player as you said)

https://www.videolan.org/vlc/download-windows.en-GB.html

Mind you original poster does not even bother to tell us what they are using - a smartphone, tablet, Windows computer, Mac computer etc

Nor even which program they are using to play the video.

Some people seem to think we know all this already.

My original question was just to establish whether or not re-synchronising audio and video were possible. It seems that it is, so here`s the full data:- I am using a laptop with Windows 7. I already have VLC player on my PC, but unfortunately, through no fault of my own, I am a layman when it comes to the technicalities, hence I would appreciate your help. So in layman`s terminology, where would I find the answer in VLC?
Many thanks.
With VLC player you can adjust the sound sync by tapping J or K while the video is playing. It does say this somewhere in their help/hotkeys section.
