I never compared it to Grenfell tower but even on a site I looked at about it, it compares it with grenfell tower, here is the link I looked at https:/ /www.th egreena ge.co.u k/exter nal-wal l-insul ation-s afe/, thanks for all replies
That link (although it doesn't open in the right place) should put your mind at ease.

I'm surprised that they're using polystyrene. It has a poor insulation value compared to other products such as Celotex.
I guess it's the cutting that's resulting in bits flaking all over the place. You wouldn't get that so much with Celotex. (Which is also around two and a half times the insulation value.)
It's just ignorance, Chessington. A little more care in cutting and fixing is all that's needed. I'm guessing that it'll be rendered over. Even so, it shouldn't take as much as six weeks. At least the rendering and painting should be a lot less messy for you.

Thanks The builder, guess how he tried to clean it up in my garden? with a blower, I was stunned!! he just made more mess, he did this Monday and must of know more of his crap would come over during the week, I will be having words with him this weekend, and ask him how is he going to clean it up, it is absolutely everywhere, cannot even let my grandkids out to play as when we go out there to put something in the dustbin even, the hoover has to come out as all over my house, blowing in my windows, so they have to be shut too.
The neighbours are the builders, ever since they bought the house a couple of years ago they have gutted it and done loads to it, they are nice people, I did have a word yesterday about the mess and he was very sorry and took a hoover to my patio, he said he did not realise the mess it caused, but I would of thought it caused loads of mess to his own garden, we will have to get a pressure washer on it after though as my patio is concrete with grooves and you cannot hoover it out the grooves, thanks for all replies
