What were your opinions about the last episode of the series? I felt a bit let down and sad. I have really enjoyed the other episodes, but the last one was strange (in my opinion).
I didn't understand how Ross met up with Tolly and his friends - did they think they were going to meet French invaders?
I understand it is based on the books which I haven't read, as I have usually found that TV adaptations don't bear much relation to the books, am I right in this case?
Don't know about the books, but it did strike me as a very down-beat ending - it just sort of.......petered out.
I think Warleggan had arranged for the the note to be delivered to Ross to get him to assemble the men, thinking the French were approaching, but of course they just ended up protecting his grain store.
You're right goodgoalie, George Warleggan had the note sent to ensure that his grain would be protected. In this last episode, you see George getting the better of Ross, and Demelza getting fed up with him!
The next series will have much more action in it, and we see what happens to the main characters. I don't know if they will carry on the series with the children, as that is what the last three deal with.
