With Sky Q you only have one main Sky box and you record ALL the programs on that one box (even if you have multi room).
For the multi room TVs you have a small wi fi box that connects to the one main Sky box.
This means because you record all the programs on the one Sky box you can record a program on the main Sky box but watch it on the "multi room" TV.
You can even watch PART of the program on the main Sky box then go and watch the REST of it on the "multi room" TV (a bedroom for example) - or the other way round, watch part of it on the multi room TV and the rest on the main Sky box.
You can also download programs to a tablet or smartphone to watch them.
I believe you can now record SIX programs at the same time while watching a 7th.
Make sure you have ordered the Sky box with larger (2TB) hard disk in it rather than the small 1TB hard disk. You can obviously record more programs on the 2TB box.
Note I have not got Sky Q but I have considered getting it and did some research hence the answers above.
