Did anyone happen to notice how easily our slick Government and
managed media were able to bury the Chilcot report. On the other
hand, perhaps it was widely publicised and discussed in depth and
I just missed it, funny that.
I think mucjh of the mainstream media (a phrase I assume you have in mind) detests Blair and therefore wouldn't cove rthings up for his benefit. Anyway, there are anti-establishment sections of the media that could have made an issue.

What would you have preferred? Many of us are bored stiff with the continual blamegame regarding the Iraq war. Like all wars, mistakes and misjudgments happened. War is never going to offer the perfect scenario and those in power are elected to make judgments on our behalf. I respect Tony Blair for not backing down on his decision. He made a tough call based on the information available to him at that time. He has no reason to apologise for taking that decision.
