Spoilers for anyone not watching live and it is likely that the dance off result will be posted when it is available online, well before the dance off tomorrow. Who else is watching and who do you think will be the next to leave?

Molly and Aston, jo.

I am absolutely shocked! I had him down as a near certain for the final, even in with a shot at winning. Wow, I can see a bit of an uproar about this one. I know he was second from bottom tonight but I didn't think the issues with the dance were that technical, I thought a lot of the criticism was that it didn't gel as a Viennese Waltz with the theme and choreography, rather than on his skill as a dancer. Technique didn't fit etc...

I knew there were a few issues though and it was Craig's 4 which pulled him down the leader board as he had 7s from the rest.

Cloverjo, they put all the dances on their Youtube channel, good for a rewatch or if you miss any, Debbie's Tango is here:

Awful version of the song though.
Thanks, Eve.
I'm not sure the music is right for the tango.
Debbie was good, though.
i did watch it, suspect Anton and Ruth might be out soon, though i didn't think their routine was that bad.
Gosh... that was a surprise... Debbie for me..what a star !

I really do think that Ruth has come on and I thought she did a pretty good job of her dance, given she is not a natural dancer. Yes, it was a bit more geared to comedy entertainment but I enjoyed watching it, I liked the music and theme. I've just watched it back over and she was moving and keeping up well, especially during some of the faster bits, some great twirly bits:

Just rewatched Aston's, I just feel so sad for him to be out this early. As a dance it doesn't look bad at all and he is such a natural mover. I can see it's not a typical Viennese Waltz but would that come down to choreography more than his skill. There have been warnings in the past though with couples being marked down for breaking rules so, if the choreography played a part, just how daft to mess about with things.

Very sorry to see that Aston has gone. He has a natural talent and rhythm.

I don't know why but Anton makes my skin crawl. I think he has a very dark side to his nature.
so Aston is out. that is a shocker, sad for him as i put him down as one of the front runners.
Question Author
I'm not a big Anton fan, I don't find him that funny. He is good for taking the dancers who don't really have much of a chance though. I guess it keeps him in the programme, can't really see him with any of the ones with a lot of potential.

I am glad he didn't get the Head Judge spot as he seemed like a popular choice for it. I think he might have been a bit too outspoken and too much of a loose cannon, like Bruno can be. I think one Bruno is enough.
I think that Anton would have made an excellent head judge.
Nobody seems to point out that Anton is laughably bad at Latin dances, toe-curlingly awful!
Aston was undone by whichever fool thought it was a good idea to make him dance a Viennese Waltz while dressed in awful 70s clothes, wearing an afro wig.
Anton is a very poor teacher, too.
You're right gg, he can't do Latin at all never has been able to do any of them.
It's a travesty Aston went and Ruth stayed.
As was alluded to by Shirley, Anton played a clever game last night and went for entertainment over technique. That must be what a lot of people voted for.
Does she mean when they fell over? That was quite entertaining.
Question Author
Anton's career was ballroom but he didn't seem to be able to diversify like the other professionals and doesn't have as much skill in teaching and choreography. Probably part of the reason he gets the contestants who aren't going to go very far.

He is playing a good game on the entertainment front and people are clearly voting for them and keeping them in. His Strictly Ballroom themed one a few weeks ago when he looked like a fluorescent chicken and this week's are clear examples.

I did find it very entertaining this week and Ruth has improved and is clearly giving it her all. It obviously appeals to those voting but I agree, it's a travesty Aston went this week. I do wonder how much blame was on Janette's choreography.

Craig's 4 obviously didn't help as it dragged him down the leader board but maybe voters assumed he was safe anyway so didn't vote for him.

Bet they are all in shock after that!
Question Author
...doesn't seem to be able to diversify even!
Every year a high flyer goes too soon, leaving the buffoon in.
Absolutely devastated that Aston has gone, flamin' Craig didn't help by giving him only a 4!! And I totally agree with what goodgoalie says about his stupid wig and costume too! He can dance and that woman Ruth who can't dance at all is still in! No wonder people think it's fixed at times ...

Debbie to win, I love her.
