Thought it was really well directed and looked great - how did they find those London locations? But not sure why Helen Schlegel was staying with the Wilcox's at the beginning - had they met on holiday? What had happened to the Schlegel sisters' parents? As you can tell, haven't seen the film.
The exterior of the Schlegels’ London home (Wickham Place) is filmed in Myddelton Square in Clerkenwell. All of the Georgian houses on the square are Grade II listed.
i have watched the three episodes so far, but can't really see the point of the story, i don't feel sympathy with the people, though its well done and very well acted.
i know as i have seen the film, if they stick to that, i remember it well. will watch the rest and see if i can find it in my heart to like any of them, love Matthew McFayden in whatever he does.
if you want good Dickens dramas then go for Bleak House, Little Dorrit, all on dvd. Little Dorrit was a hard read but worth it in the end, incidentally Matthew McFayden played the lead in Little Dorrit.
'Truly shocking' might be seen as a slight overstatement but hey, for all I know you squeal with delight at the circus and have lashings of ginger beer with everything.
