no. next question.
not really, i don't watch them mostly, as i mute the sound or switch over if they are on the tv.
Well that is certainly too PC in my opinion, I cannot comment on other adverts.
You are selling a home cleaner.......then you need women....they are the cleansers.
Have you ever heard of someone wanting a "cleaning man?"....neither have I, it is always a "cleaning lady."
That advert is fine, but the ban is OTT.
they must be looking at the wrong ad, i always see a man advertising that product, cillit bang the dirt is gone bloke....
The link refers to the Spanish Advertising Standards Board where 32 women have been shown as using Cillit but no men. Haha. They do not however ban adverts that depict men as stupid and gormeless, and women, without fail, to be bright as buttons and beautiful.
Togo, because no one complains about them
Not the CILLIT BANG
Whoops, that posted too soon, was going to say that I loathe the shouty man on the advert, OH bought it when it was on offer and I was really annoyed.
I don't think it's sexist as much as poor advertising, there must be at least one Spanish chap who needs to clean his shower door.

Perhaps a subject matter for a whole new thread?

Two examples spring to mind are the chair advert, where the woman sitting in the chair says "my husband is in the shed with all the other useless clutter"

And the one where that despicable Insurance guy says to the wife of a couple who's car has broken down coming off their holidays, when he says "have you forgotten your donkey", the woman then looks around at her husband struggling with all their luggage and the guy says "not that one, this one" pointing to the toy donkey she had bought on her holidays.

AOG I didn't realise you were such a snowflake!
cillit bang should clean their act up!
I'm sure it doesn't matter at all to AOG, much like myself. The only concern is the number of stupid women who are liable to actually believe it. :))
Men in adverts always seem to be clueless. It seems as if we have to portray men as idioits to make the women come out from the dust they've been hidden in for centuries.
Was "dust" a typo Clover? :))
Mr J2 says he wants his ironing duties to be recognised (his step-dad owned a laundry and OH learned in his 20's) he does all the ironing. Could get complicated. :)
