If you have access to the BBC iPlayer, can I recommend watching BBC ALBA for the next couple of hours - if it's as good as the last couple of NYEs then it will be a treat.

A bit old fashioned (and what's wrong with that?) but loads of excellent music and a distinct absence of London based nonsense.

I have celebrated NYEve in a few countries but with their traditions and music the Scots have nailed it nicely.....

Thanks S-D for pointing out the BBC Alba show. Makes a change from Jools Holland and whatever disco version BBC1 had on tonight. I don't understand Gaelic unfortunately but the music's great and somehow seems to dovetail nicely with the 12 year old Balvenie I'm currently imbibing.
