Clarence has just been realeased on DVD. Got it today....I remember it so well, the first time around. Why has it never really been repeated or released before? Did people not like it?


I note on the back cover it states that several edits have been made for contractual reasons....?

Buy it!, it's magic!

It wasn't popular - seen as RB's weakest work, but obviously interest in it after his sad demise - but not enough during his lifetime to assure a repeat on TV.

That's sad, I know it wasn't up with the likes of porridge and Open All Hours, but given the amout of crap being made now, you wonder why...? I'v looked for it for years...It's a shame he had to die for it to be released. Cheapens it a bit.

I agree with you snapdarlich, If I had the choice of Ronnie Barker in Clarence and todays' Little Britian .............. well there's no contest really.


Actually Clarance was one of my favourite RB shows.
