I never thought it would happen but, having just sat through Amanda Lamb and her cliché riddled property tarting-up programme with 'space', 'upscaling', 'ticking all the boxes' etc etc, I realise that Kirstie Allbutt and Lispin' Phil aren't the worst that TV can inflict.
I find it hard to tell them apart. Kirstie and Amanda that is. Not Amanda and Phil. Just to be clear.
If you want impossible then Kevin McCliche ‘off of’ Grand Designs has my vote. 15 years of saying the same thing, at the same time in every. Single. Eposide. Ok, Kev, do the financial jeopardy bit.......ok Kev, now do the bit where you say ‘ just remarkable’.
Thing is, it was quite entertaining for the first series and a half. Then it became. Ever. So. Slightly. Annoying.
So I stopped watching. But I did stumble across an ep the other day where some apparently over privelidged wa..... was building a semi subterranean edifice to himself.....in the middle of 17 other houses. And there he was, Kev, saying the. Same. Thing. At. The. Same. Time.
I used to love those programmes but I got fed up. There are too many different programmes doing the same thing and they keep going for years and years and years.
The time comes when enough is enough.
I've been a big fan of Wheeler Dealers since the start but this week's episode was my 'enough'.
I hate the prog where the script is the same. Resident Builder. “ I’ve found something that needs remedying that wasn’t obvious before. We haven’t budgeted for it. Female presenter. “ it needs doing. Nothing by half’s “. Outcome they find the extra funds.
