Let’S Hope Life, Does Indeed Mean Life For This Scumbag.
// A man who tried to kill a Muslim woman and running over a 12-year-old girl in “revenge” for terror attacks has been jailed for life.
"Moore had expressed a desire to run someone over and the evidence was clear that his motivation for attacking these victims was hostility towards their ethnicity and perceived religion."
Officers recorded the car ramming as a race and religiously motivated hate crime and said it caused “concern and anxiety” among the local community in Leicester. //

"He was actually attacking Britain, he was attacking a British mother, a British wife, a productive British worker and charity volunteer,” a statement said.
“He wasn't attacking terrorists, he was joining their ranks by doing what they do and attacking an innocent woman.
Agree with Mr Hussein

Part of the blame must lie with the lefty liberal attitude to refuse to engage with peoples views and decrying them as racist.
The Government need to get to grips with how people feel about Islamic terrorism, for example allowing jihad's to return. Failure to do so will mean more idiotic vigilantes like this one harming the wrong people.

How is the victim a victim of Islamic terrorism? She was minding her own business, and she got run over by a car - I can't see where Islamic terrorism comes into that?

Unless you are trying to form a connection between perceived 'lefty liberal attitudes' and this man's behaviour, which I regard as being too much of a stretch to be remotely credible.

As usual a newspaper has intentionally given an incorrect answer.
It is NOT a 'minimum sentence of 20 years' the sentence is the only one possible for murder which is 'life' The 20 years refers to the tariff which a judge must also issue with any life sentence. A prisoner can not apply for release on parole until the Tariff has been served. It will be several more years until a decision is made by the parole board.
Even then it is only a conditional release, he can still be returned to jail for any breach of the release conditions. In that respect 'life' does mean life.

Horrible and misguided, but no different in motivation - and with less casualties- than the "religiously motivated hate crimes" carried out by Islamists, in Paris, Nice, Berlin, and London.

//“Part of the blame must lie with...” Funny, in most cases right wingers think the blame lies with the person who commits the crime//
The "part of" bit is an attempt to explain the violence - as in motives, causes, provocations. An intelligent approach some might think. Example: "Why did the Palestinian attack and kill the Jewish grandmother with a knife?". Answer: "It was the desperate reaction of a person who has suffered injustice and oppression at the hands of the Israelis. What he did was wrong, but , while not approving, we understand why such people, might be driven to commit evil acts".
I think the poster and his spiritual siblings get all that, because I've seen just such rationalisations used, if not as defences, at least as pleas in mitigation of violence.
The cause of vigilantism is the perception that serious crime is going unpunished. What's wrong with vigilantism is not that it seeks redress for a crime, but that when it fails to find the actual perpetrators it will seek out and punish (as in this case) innocent, but symbolic surrogates for them.

I don’t believe the lefty liberal attitude is ‘perceived’. It does, as ymb indicates, refuse to engage with people’s concerns and it does decry them as racist.

// because this eejit was responding to the atrocities committed by islamic terrorists. //
That's a bit like saying islamic terrorists are only responding to western aggression and interference.
There's no defence or mitigation for either. This is a lowlife scumbag that attempted to murder an innocent stranger.

Lets us hope that Moore serves the full term for his crimes. Likewise Umar Haque.

Is that a genuine attempt at excusing this travesty of a human being?
If that is the case then the IRA have been merely responding to British atrocities on Irish soil.
Does it still make a good argument?
No, I thought not.

Although every person should be condemning the actions of this madman, it is interesting to note that he has been more savagely attacked by some ABers than I can ever remember them attacking those terrorist Muslims with the same such gusto, although they have slaughtered many many more, than this attempted killing of this poor woman and child.
