Did the Magician Marc Spelmann deserve the Golden Buzzer award?

I think it was a trifle bizarre for him to include filmed footage of his baby daughter in his act, since he can't use the same method as he presents other tricks.

I think that I could see into part of the trick though and that was where he got Simon to circle a random letter in a book, Simon could not see if he circled a letter, obviously the pen did not write and the letter had previously already been circled by the magician.

I though that was a bit sick actually, and I'd like to know what he's going to do for an encore. Likewise the man who escaped from the water tank.

You have point there naomi, regarding the guy in the water tank.

What I did think was fantastic was the balancing act, a little raggy at times but what do you expect, when balancing on such items?
I din't watch it but saw a clip of the magician on FB. Comments on there said that he had filmed all sorts of scenarios so that the correct ones would be shown. Can you edit a film within a few minutes though?
Stopped watching when they recruited David Walliams as a judge.
didn't like the act much ,found the japanese fellow quite unusual.they didn't do many awful ones this time .
SENSATIONAL......particularly the magician with the emotion and pathos thrown in.
Iliked the ten year old singer at the beginning of the show best myself. I didnt think the magician deserved the golden buzzer, no way.
tiggerblue10 ......with digital you edit in seconds
anotheoldgit |... yes the book was obvious as you said
There’s always one with a sob story. What’s he going to do next time? Certainly not worthy of the golden buzzer.
I agree Boto, I would much rather the golden buzzer went to the 10 year old boy singer. He was a natural.
I thought it was brilliant and well-deserving of the golden buzzer. As to how he did it, I wondered if the book only contained that one word repeated over and over, but then when Simon looked at it he would have seen that, so I go with your theory. But, as magic Marc said, the recovery of his child was the really amazing thing. His next round act will be interesting
Yes I think he deserved the Golden Buzzer as the trick was excellent, but he didn't make me cry like everybody else seemed to be doing!
