Anyone Else Suffering From Wedding Overload?

I tuned into BBC this morning for news and the presenters were wetting themselves with excitement. Sky and ITV the same. The whole thing is a farce.

The trouble is that the media overloads us with articles and items about events like this and then the great British public turn against the couple concerned.

I could certainly do without the banks of commentators (almost standing next to one another) trying to fill endless hours of airtime with vacuous comments and stumbling interviews with Union-flag suited 'characters' lining the pavements of Windsor.

I'm not , simply because I don't tune in but for those looking for other News it must be frustrating.

To me it is all about British Pageantry.

Windsor is full with paps & crown fields are choked up with tents etc for broadcasters. Roads to be closed - no compo offered for business losses :(

I purposely havent put the TV on for a week because I cannot stand the inane witterings out of reporters who are trying to make the most insignifant detail seem interesting. I shall, however, watch it tomorrow.

There’s pageantry and there’s endless media guff, which presumably is what the complaint is about.
A simple solution is to avoid said media guff. It’s a fact of life sadly at occasions like this and presumably lots of people lap it up

Thanks to AB I found out that the MOT test is changing on Sunday 20th, I don't think it's been on the news or if it has, I've missed it.

Never watch or listen to news. Gave up when it became 24 hr rolling news consisting of endless repetitive speculation, vacuous comments, social media quotes, reports on 'celebrities' I couldn't care less about and endless 'nanny state' directives, so I am definitely not suffering from Wedding overload and will avoid it completely.

I haven't really looked at the TV much but when I have, I`m surprised at the wall to wall coverage on the BBC.

One thing that does annoy the hell out of me is the fawning obsequious tone adopted by BBC Royal correspondent Nicholas Witchell.

That's not limited to this wedding of course, it applies to everything he does.

No, simply because I dont have the television on during the day,I dont watch the news on televisioin, Im really looking forward to seeing the wedding. Bring it on!other than the local news andI dont buy a newspaper..

Perhaps our American cousins have seen how our once quaint old country has changed, and are therefore keeping away from the place.

Our American cousins are probably more aware of what her sort are like nd didnt want to fight all the trailers at the wedding.

Personally I find it OTT. No need to be outside Windsor today all they are talking is a load of rubbish.

Of course there will be other news today but unlikely we will hear it unless there is something more interesting like a fire or terrorist incident.
