I brings back memories of a memorable weekend in 1980 when i met a farmer in Lincs who had given up farming to be a full time Aviation Historian and Tour guide ( I have forgotten his name). I arranged a weekend for a group of 20 doctors, Junior staff and theatre staff to be given a tour of "Bomber County " by this chap (Mike something) and we set off in a minibus and stayed at the Petwood hotel Woodhall Spa which was the officers mess of 617squadron during WW2. The tour was a huge success and the weekend ended with a dinner and snooker competition at the Petwood.
Guest speakers included a mate of mine who flew the Vulcan bomber and gave us some hair -raising stories and two Dutch women whom i met and invited to the dinner and they gave an insight into life under Nazi occupation in Holland in WW2.
Thank you again 237....much appreciated.
