One bride who is getting married tomorrow has banned the footie being shown and declared a footie free zone.

I myself would show the match as this is a special game, being the world cup and all that. If it was just an ordinary league game I would not bother.
What would you do??

Were it me most of my guests would be Irish so looking at what I'd do for them if Ireland was playing (anything!) I have to say....yes, I'd show the game...
Apart from during the ceremony which would be over and done with quite quickly I'd embrace it rather than have it as a distraction....
Large screen......tables and chairs placed to see the screen well.....little flags for the guests and a waiter with a bottle of fizz waiting to be popped at each goal.......well not the opposition's goals of course....
Lots of folk who don't bother with football become fans for a while.....it's fun and I'd make the wedding part of that fun...... x

Being a wedding guest is not everyone's cup of tea....to be there when you want to be watching a game...well that'd be a miserable wedding atmosphere.... :-(

Maybe, If I had to have a big wedding. I'd be irritated but I wouldn't discount it and if I did then I'd incorporate it into the day properly so everyone could enjoy it, they are your wedding guests after all. If you can't beat em join 'em, people would simply watch it anyway and possibly not attend, but then I've never wanted a big wedding, just me and the person I'm marrying and immediate family and friends, preferably somewhere natural like a beach or forest, so I can't see that really being anything I have to worry about.
