If not, then It would seem that it is okay to have grotesque white puppets, but not black ones.

Tricia Goddard sounded foolish, when told that the character had been around since 1642, saying "So have the Black And White Minstrels!" which is patently absurd.
I think the Professor was criticised unfairly for his 'racist' puppet, and I feel that the debate was centred around putting modern morality on ancient handed-down cultural history, which is always an argument doomed to failure.
As the Professor pointed out, no-one is censoring the violence, racism and sexism in Shakespeare, but that is simply cultural snobbery.

If you found the white puppets offensive you could always complain by phoning them, emailing them or writing to them.

It was offensive also ugly so better to take off screen as people were eating their breakfasts and it also could have terrified and children watching.

Chrissy22 has possibly posted the most pointless post of the week.
It is ridiculous to suggest children would have been terrified and equally ridiculous that people would have been put off their breakfast.
It really irritates me the way people censor old things using modern morality - this is akin to the morons at Manchester University covering up Kipling's If last week.
