After purchasing 2 viewing cards for my spare Sky+ hd box which proved to be useless my question is does anyone know if is possible to obtain an authentic viewing card which will pair with my box in order to view other programs as well as Freesat channels. Thanks in advance.

^^^ Telboy's problem, Tuvok, is that he's got TWO Sky+ boxes (but only one Sky+ account) and he's trying to get them BOTH to recognise the cards in them as valid.
Personally I've got my doubts as to whether it's actually possible because, if it was, two people (not necessarily in the same household) would be able to share the same Sky+ account.
There are references on the Sky website to 'Sky Multiscreen' (which seemed to offer what Telboy is seeking) but clicking through on the links now only goes to information about Sky Q boxes.

I read the original post has he'd bought cards for somewhere other than Sky.

I started with that link, Tuvok, but it seems to suggest that a Sky Multiscreen subscription is required. Searching for 'Sky Multiscreen', in order to find out more about it, only leads to links which now redirect to Sky Q information. So perhaps Sky are no longing offering 'Multiscreen' to people who've not already got a subscription for it?
I have Sky multi screen on old Sky+ type boxes.
So we have two Sky+ boxes in the house, with a Sky card in each.
We pay £10 a month extra for this second Sky+ box with multi screen.
However now Sky have moved to Sky Q they may expect you to move to Sky Q if you want to use Sky in two different rooms.
With Sky Q you only have the one main Sky box and everything is recorded on that.
But if you want multiscreen with Sky Q you have a small Sky box in the second room that uses wi fi to connect to the main Sky Q box to watch what is recorded in that.
I have not gone to Sky Q yet but I am considering it.
I think you will need to go through Sky to get the extra card.
Tell them you think you are paying enough already and are considering cancelling, I am sure they will offer you a deal if you agree to a new contract.
Note Sky are losing lots of customer to Netflix and other companies so will do all they can to keep customers so may do you a deal.
