I did one interview and got 33 questions right out 100 and later had a phone call to say you are on. Then another interview with a partner got 39 out of 40 and never heard another thing. Then re-applied with another partner but did not do as well but they asked us on (Today's the Day) and then did another 5 game shows with them
Producers want a variety of people so that each show is entertaining not just for the questions but because of the people answering them -- or trying to.
Jade Jones is, I assume, a double Olympic Taekwondo champion so not sure that calling her a "so-called" celebrity is very fair. And, indeed, not knowing about her seems rather ironic given the general tone of this OP.

This (now getting a little boring) programme is contrived.
Take this episode, the first contestant was asked which 'Chaser' he would prefer, and bang on the button, his preference turn up.
And giving the contestants a choice of either the 'A' questions or the 'B' questions, makes no difference at all they are given the questions that ITV wish them to be given.
