Good point, EllieMay. Too many storylines overstay their welcome, including the red herrings and false alarms -- missed opportunities to catch out (e.g.) Phelan before he did get found out.
Soaps should not be predictable. Some of them, like good TV dramas and films (Psycho !), often wrong-foot the viewer and give you food for thought as well as being entertaining.

I agree again. Another thing is that characters are sometimes changed to fit storylines. Imran originally was a bit of a stern stereotype but seems to have become a bit fickle and lightweight. Tim was a timid, not-too-smart window cleaner but is now a sensible brake on Sally's pretentiousness, if a bit prone to raising his fists.
