so I've brought my question here without looking at them all because mine will of course be special. DVT.

Right leg slightly swollen 3 weeks ago, rang 101 for advice and they sent me ambulance straight away. Was admitted after 6hr wait in Casualty..(they weren't even busy!!) and was told they were waiting till Tues for me to have an ultrasound. (Must've been Bank Hol Weekend!)
So far have had 3 ultrasounds,no DVT found on any of them. I went to see GP and she sent for urgent scan, but one that scans the pelvis as well.
Still have leg 3x wider than other, and have appt for different type of ultrasound on Thurs, but this right leg is still getting fatter.
Any advice please.

Sorry, didn't know B+S had sub-sections.
I hope that you phoned 111, not 101! The police aren't very good at diagnosing medical problems ;-)

Has a blood test been undertaken, has venogram been considered and have you been given precautionary anti-coagulants?

Lol Chris, yes I did mean 101!
You've just reminded me about blood tests, they took a few when I was in Casualty.
I wasn't put on blood thinners when my strokes were discovered because I am still falling, and they didn't want me to bleed to death. I actually have around 3 falls a day, and have never seen any blood!
3 questions first.
1) Is the left leg swollen?
2) Is the right leg white or blueish?
3) is the right leg painful?
Question Author
Hi Sqad. 1) No
2) Normal colour
3) No pain.
Right thanks......so we can rule out DVT.

I remember you having some DXT and chemotherapy for a malignant disease, somewhere.....is that the case and if so where was it?
Question Author
I had loadsa Chemo and radiotherapy at The Christie.
Maybe lymphoedima related to your illness/treatment?
"lymphoedema"
Question Author
Sorry, didn't answer fully, I had cancer in the endometrium and had a hysterectomy and oophorectomy. (love using that word)
Question Author
Treatment finished over a year ago.
Did you have any lymph nodes removed?
O.K...it all makes sense now.

I agree with 237...in that you have secondary lymphoedema and the scans now are to determine, whether the lymph nodes have been scarred by the DXT OR, there is recurrence of the tumour and for that, you will have to wait for the results.
In the meantime, keep the leg elevated to reduce the swelling.
keep us informed of the results.
Question Author
Thanks 237, nobody has mentioned that. Shall investigate.
