What four people in a dinghy?
4 people ? You really want to keep up Spath.
//Mr Javid declared the ongoing situation a "major incident" after more than 220 people attempted to cross the English Channel in small boats since November, according to official figures.//

I think the term is Ferries, Danny.

All just some immigration crap to make people want brexit and now.
Question Author
You know.. the original reasonings and sway for the referendum... Coming back once Brexit is deflating.. Best bump that racism spirit ay!!

Only reason it's a 'mayor incident' is because the migrants lives are at risk, trying to cross a busy shipping lane.. Not because it's a worry for the UK.
Spath, you really do post some rubbish at times.
Why would Brexit have any influence whatsoever on these people attempting to come here? They’re not Europeans and therefore Brexit doesn’t affect them.
Question Author
that's not what i'm saying dearest, i'm saying the media is pumping this in our faces so that we're not as focused on brexit at the moment, and when we are, immigration becomes a huge factor.

The more the media spout on about it, the more it's in peoples minds, at discussion and being highlighted.
Brexit is in the news every day - without exception. This is other news - which is also currently in the news. Would you rather it be ignored, Spath?

slightly

i just don't think it's humanitarian to hear about people so troubled they need to risk their lifes in the sea to get here for some football yob to slate, mock and then get self righteous about his country.
I'll take that as a 'yes'. Nuff said.
Spath, these people are not 'troubled'. They're coming from a safe place. Get real.
Question Author
its not 'news' is it?

been goin on for time
Question Author
to risk your life for a better place to live most certainly is troubled
So has Brexit and that's still news.
spath, why do you think their lives will be better here than in France? Or more to the point why do they think their lives will be better here than in France?
parliament, as arbiter of the law in the uk, has decided that crossing the channel in an inflatable boat without official documentation is illegal. if you disagree with that tenet of the law, you're quite at liberty to vote for a party that campaigns on a platform of universal access for all - except that no party with a realistic possibility of winning elections is running any such campaign.
Question Author
because Brexit is still uncertain, it changes every day, and it seems to constantly be evolving in some way. However, migrants have existed for millennia.
Question Author
Naomi, probably due to our humanitarian care

Mushroom, i'm not saying let them in with open arms
spath, they're coming here illegally... and they're coming from a place of safety. They are not refugees fleeing danger.
