xfactor - sad ghostly song

during the xfactor, just before the singer comes out, they cut to a scene where the singer talks about his week and what he is about to sing. There is a song that is played, and I swear I have heard it during the film 28 days later.

I think I know the music you are talking about. I watched some very early episodes and heard this very haunting music that you are describing.

Next thing I know the same or very similar music is on Lost, and after a few episodes I keep hearing it.

Then it gets better, tonight (Sat 12th Nov) on BBC 2 there was a programme about the Nazi's & Jewish in WW2 and the same music gets played again during a couple of scenes.

I've checked out the Lost website, and the guy that does the music for that is Michael Giacchino, who did music for the game "Call Of Duty" which also has very haunting music!!

I will post another question about this and hopefully try and get some answers.
