If it's the programme with Tamzin Outhwaite as a character with a terminal illness, I think you'll find it's Macy Gray's song, 'I Try', which has the lyrics about walking away and stumbling. I only know this because I've just this minute read it in the Radio Times. That's a spooky coincidence!

No its not Macy Gray, I know she has a song with that title but the tune they've been advertising it with is not Macy Gray at all, her voice is really distinctive I would recognise it right away. I would be more inclined to go along with the Kate Bush suggestion because its a really emotive tune...

I think that the theme is a version of the kate bush song but the one used is by someone called Helen Monks

It's 100% Macy Gray, "I Try", just speeded up a bit which is why it sounds like Kate Bush - read an article about the programme makers having to get permission to interfere with the song from Macy. Keep you eyes out for it on iTunes - apparently she may release this edit.

Kate Bush did sing this song. It's called 'A Womans Work'. Before this D'Angelo done a version of this song but originally it was sung by Maxwell and appeared in a film called 'All's Fair in Love and Basketball' - Definately the best of all three versions! = )

tis indeed Kate Bush.. 'this womans work' written for the 1988 film 'she's having a baby' with Kevin Bacon...his partner goes through a tough time in delivery which you can find in the opening lyrics, makes me blub every time i hear it...unbelievable song!
