Anyone out there listening to Chris Evans on Virgin and/or Simon Mayo on Scala and, if so, how do their current shows compare to their old Radio 2 ones?

Regulars aside like Bruce and Wright, there has been too much chopping and changing, experiments that have backfired (Mayo/Whiley),changing time slots, etc.
I've lost count of the number of stand-ins who I have actually preferred (marginally!)
It's car crash stuff at times typified recently when Whiley stood in for Bruce for the week and messing up 'Popmaster' is sacrilege! She constantly pressed the wrong buttons and sounded like any confidence she had was drained from her.
I hate it when several guests are together and they just talk all over each other seemingly oblivious to the humble listener who can't make head nor tale of what is going on.
R2 controllers need to have a proper rethink, get their act together and sort it out once and for all!
Broadcasting is an art form and standards on R2 are nosediving.
Phew!

Radio 2 ought to copy football clubs.
If someone else has a better person, you poach them.
Instead radio 2 seems to work on the theory you have to have done your time there to be considered. That's why Zoe Ball and Sara Cox got their jobs (that and being the required sex. Both jobs had to go to women)
