The rest of the crew were heroes too. They are still airhead, flying waitress, trolley dollies to some.

It must have taken a lot of courage for all the crew to stay and help the passengers, I know that they are trained to do this (and paid) but the normal human instinct would be to run and get as far away from the burning plane.

Nobody is going to stay and help passengers because they are paid. It's just drilled into you because ultimately, that is why you are there.
