I wish someone would explain to Jacob that Maya was committing an offence having sex with him just after he was 16.

It is an offence for a person aged 18 or over to have any sexual activity with a person under the age of 18 if the older person holds a position of trust (for example a teacher or social worker) as such sexual activity is an abuse of the position of trust.

I can't see anywhere in that article that mentions what the law actually says. They made a point during the series that they waited until Jacob was 16 before they did the deed. Nowhere did they mention Maya was still breaking the law.
