Tracer Bullets in Film
1 Answers
I recently watched " The Transporter" once again - ( Great film even tho it is complete tosh ) and at least one character used tracer rounds from a handgun.
Is this just a little visual eye candy or would tracer ever be used from a hand gun?

The reason machine guns have them is to give them a direction guide for the gunner to aim with when sending out multiple bursts in seconds and the tracers are usualy placed every after every 3 rounds of ammunition. To have it in a handgun is useless as it uses up 1 of the (up to) 15 rounds thus reducing the actual number of killing rounds within the gun and also isnt much use as a guide to where the bullets are hitting as it is just one round fired each time and not a stream of bullets.
