sorry for derailing you Mamy - watched for the first time tonight the Voice kids. the young kids 2 girls and a boy were very good. I had them taped and was able to rewind them. From what I "hear" good harmonies.

I watched the programme tonight and, although I enjoyed it, I wasn't as impressed with the standard of performance as I have sometimes been in the past. None of the groups of three seemed to really gel well together (except possibly for the three girls in matching dresses).

I've been following The Voice Kids series from all around the world for several years, courtesy of Youtube. (It's now shown in around 30 countries). Although the UK contestants are often quite a bit better than those in some other countries, our youngsters rarely seem to match the standards of those in Germany, particularly where the 'battle' round is concerned. (The German coaches seem better at putting together teams of three, where they're all able to perform in a similar style. That might be though because the Germans are rather less adventurous in which contestants are selected for the blind auditions and who then go forward to the battle round. Without, for example, opera singers and barn dance singers in the competition, its easier for them to create 'pop groups' from the kids they see).

Much the same is true of the Netherlands version of The Voice Kids, where there's always a high standard.
