They don't annoy me, the anthropomorphication of them by people annoys me - but it does with any animal species.

Yes they have routines and behaviours that can be said to mimic humans, but that does not make them human.

People look at fur seals with their soft coats and massive eyes ringed with to-die-for eyelashes, and assume they are cute and cuddly.

Try and cuddle one, and you risk losing your fingers!

Trivia alert - the voice behind the meerkats in the tv ads is Simon Greenall who played Michael in the Alan Partridge series - he must be seriously minted by now!!

If you are talking about the advert, I cant stand it. Every time it comes on I feel id like to put my fingers in both my ears and scream.

My favourite is the little ones who are looking for uncles, so cute. But for me the most annoying ad is the Haribo one where the adults speak with baby voices, I have to mute it as it sets my teeth on edge
