Did anyone watch Midsummer Murders latest episode? Do you think its losing its touch? Doesn't seem to have the same appeal as the older ones, do you think?
That's because the population has been whittled down from 295 to under 50 and there is now a branch of CID in the village what with all the murders there. Crime in the shires is unparalleled, I tell thee.
I don't watch it anymore. I think it lost it's touch when Brian Truelove stopped being in charge. Steadily went downhill after that. I watch the repeats of the old ones on ITV3 sometimes. Still enjoy them.
The story lines are ridiculous, Wild West shows, Travellers entering the Village and strange religious loonies.
Neil Dudgeon as DCI John Barnaby is so unconvincing, same old mannerisms along with his family life, their dog runs rings round them as regards acting.
Totally agree, the good series are those that had a short life, Dinner Ladies, Fawlty Towers etc., these perpetual cop shows are either ridiculous or totally predictable. I'm waiting for a new series of Shetland, love those, the one I really miss is Inspector Lindley, OH loathed it because he's, OH, such a, inverted snob!
